This little lady is serious about the Food Drive! She doesn't mean to beg, that is just her face. She can't help it!
Don't worry, you have plenty of time to bring your stash to our lobby sometime before Nov 30th. We will take it to Provisions Food Pantry in Bulverde on Dec 1st.
We are grateful for any and all items you are able to give, but their most needed items are canned goods, dry rice & beans, peanut butter & jelly, and bathroom products.
Of course, they also take cash donations! Each $1 donated equals $7 in purchasing power through their partner at the San Antonio Food Bank. So if you can't decide what to bring, don't want to haul a bunch of bags, and would rather write a check... feel free to make it out to "Provisions: Bulverde Food Pantry."
It's time for a paws! Please mark your calendar for the few classes she's taking off next week for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Wednesday 11/22 noon class will be the last one before we retreat to spend time with family.
There will not be a 5:30 pm class at the garden center or a 7 pm class at the studio on Wednesday 11/22. And there will be no classes on Thanksgiving Thursday 11/23.
We will be back to our regularly scheduled programming on Monday 11/27.
In my 10 years of teaching, we have practiced a pose called Bridge many times. Of those many times, probably about 10% of the time, I get the urge to sing you a song.
Not just any song, no. This one is very special, and it happens to be called The Bridge. And, it happens to be written by my brother Marco!
It came up in class today, so I decided to reach out to my brother and see if I could share his song with you. I'm delighted that he said yes.
So, for those with curious ears, please feel free to click the link below to visit Google Drive and enjoy one of my favorite songs: The Bridge!!
| Sure, I'll have a listen! |
This feels like a great time to share my collection of back-scratchin bears. If you watch them while the song is playing, it looks like they're dancing!
Maybe you'll try some of their moves next time we have knees to chest, rolling around on our backs🤣
With love,
Monica
No tickets required A few months ago, I had a raffle-related moment that lodged a phrase in my brain: must be present to win. It felt playful at first, but it stayed with me. The more time that has passed, the more meaning it has gathered. So naturally, the theme wove its way into our Goodbye 2025 mini-retreat yesterday. We talked about how one of the simplest ways to make even the most ordinary moments feel meaningful is through presence. Being fully here changes the way everything else...
We welcomed winter Winter officially arrived this week, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year. From here, the light begins its quiet return, little by little. But first, we move through this deeper, cozier stretch of the season. That’s why it felt especially meaningful to gather together. To those of you who joined me for our mini-retreat yesterday… thank you. Truly. Hearing the mantras that surfaced, witnessing the honesty and intention in the room, and sharing that space...
Or... do you? I was listening to 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' the other day and got stuck on that line “You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer…”🎶 I realized… I don’t actually know them. But then I paused and thought about it a little more. Each reindeer has a distinct personality: energy, grace, confidence, heart, strength. When I look at it that way, I recognize every one of them. Maybe I do know them. Nerd alert: This thought excited me. So, in true Monica fashion, I took this idea...
